So, I don't know why I didn't discover just what this man was all about before...but now I have. And thus another celebrity crush gets added to my repertoire. He has joined the ranks of Jason Schwartzman, Adam Savage, Ben Foster, and Langly from the X-Files. Yes, I am aware that I am into quirky dudes. And I am totally down with that. Duh.
Anyway, how did he win my heart you ask? Well, he wrote a little ditty called Fett's Vette. And I heard that he played a show right before Episode III opened and bought everyone there tickets to the midnight showing. He truly is a man after my own heart! Anyway, I'm totally hooked on his nerdcore now.
That's pretty much all I've got to report at the moment.
Oh wait...actually, I just want to say that there are some pretty awesome kids in Bemidji. It has taken me some time to actually find them, but they exist! Good music, good beer, star wars, left-wing politics...I have found some kids with common interests! Yay! I still really miss Richmond and all of my friends there. Hopefully I might get out there for Christmas! <3!

I googled my name and found my old livejournal. I can't even believe how long its been since I've posted here. Anyhow...I'm 23 and I live in Bemidji, Minnesota now. I graduated from VCU with a B.S. in Anthropology and a minor in Religious Studies. I am now going to Bemidji State University, majoring in Indian Studies and minoring in Ojibwemowin (Ojibwe language). I don't really know what to say on here. I guess I'm just grown up. It is nice to have rediscovered an outlet though...should I need one. I must admit that I am a bit lonesome here so far. I have some family in Red Lake, but school and work keep me so busy I haven't gotten to hang out with them enough! That will change though. Soon. It has to! Oh well...if anyone sees this...feel free to be in touch. I don't even know who I'm still friends with on this thing that actually still uses it. I'm just procrastinating and feeling sick, so yeah. I guess it has been awhile. I'm 22. I don't really feel different. Just old. but I've been old forever so it doesn't really matter. I guess I just feel like...another year...
I will find whatever it is I'm looking for at some point or another. I'll just go wherever life takes me. But I'm not staying here.
This semester is looking worse than the last as far as the amount of work I have ahead of me. I think I can handle it. I'm so close to graduating now that there's no way I will let myself fuck it up. Fall '06. yaaay.

Mythbusters is awesome! I have gotten so I really can't miss an episode...and I even watch the repeats that I already saw...even if its in the same night...But there are always things you miss the first time! Anyhow, this entire team is awesome! I would love to meet Jamie Hyneman, Adam Savage, Grant "The Nose" Imahara, Kari Byron, Tory, Christine, Scotty, Dr. Heather, and anyone else I may have forgotten! But I must say that, of course, I have a slight crush on Mr. Savage. His wife is a very lucky lady! But anyone who knows me and knows my general 'type' I guess couldve easily come to that conclusion. haha But the show is absolutely brilliant and everyone on it is so charismatic and intelligent! How can you not love this show? I wish I had known of its existence before this past summer. I feel like such a latecomer to Mythbusters fandom. Ah well. I've got many X-Philes beat beat beat! I have not forgotten my roots. I still adore and regularly watch the X-Files. And I'll never give up Star Wars or Harry Potter. If I ever feel the need to get a tattoo (which I probably never will because I think almost all drive I had for that has left me now that I'm getting too old for my own good) I will probably still have something incorporating X-Files, Star Wars, and Harry Potter. And I must say...don't be surprised if I at some point down the road decide that my theorized tattoo needs a Mythbusters addition. Well, that's about all I've been up to. Yes, I know, I have no life. I play the Sims and watch Discovery, History, Travel, TLC, etc. when I'm taking breaks from reading ethnographies and essays on fieldwork methodology and writing extensive papers on the subjects of magic and witchcraft among other cultures and on classic ethnography. sigh. it will be a fun semester. well, that's my update. I'm still a hermit. I probably will be until I graduate...and I'll be moving about 7 months after that, if not sooner. so if you havent seen me around...school and work have so overtaken me that my relaxation time is spent watching educational and scifi television and, if i'm lucky, shootin the shit with a few good pals and getting drunk. those days are getting fewer! Maybe I'll go drink a beer right now! bye! |

in other news, i'm doing pretty good in school thus far. i realize its only about october, but hey, good starts are important. kristin and i living together is going fabulously. i love her soooo much. and seeing donald all the time is awesome too. i am missing my girls, however. i've been so busy i havent really gotten to see much of them. kates, cass, diana, sarah...i love you all and i'm sad i only see you about once a week these days. if that.
my cat is a psycho. she only wants to play when i want to sleep. and when i want to play she wants to sleep. we need to get on some sort of coinciding schedule. i have two HUGE piles of books on my desk! its outrageous!

I've pretty much been a recluse lately. I'm okay with that. I feel bad though because I have been neglecting friendships. For that I am truly sorry! Once I get some finances straight and whatnot I'll feel better about going out and hanging out. It's weird...but it's me...and that's just how it is.
Some things that have made me really happy recently:
*Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
It was just so long anticipated! I read it so fast. I really need to sit down and read it a few more times...and much slower so I am sure I didn't miss anything!
*Bellatrix! I found a lovely kitten that is almost a cat and I love her and she has won her way into our house and our hearts. I know that's cheesey, but seriously she's fucking awesome!
*The Sims and The Sims 2...this has been occupying a lot of my time...I know it's pathetic. I don't care.
*Kristin and I signed the lease! Yay! She's officially my roommate in a week!
*I figured out I might be able to graduate in Fall 2006. This makes me very happy. :)
That's really all I can think of right now...and that's the only update I have. |

I'm going to the beach for a week with kristin, janice, donald, sam and heather. it will be much needed.

anyway...all my hard work this semester has paid off and i think i'm gonna get to keep my financial aid for at least another semester. yaaay.
this summer...i'm going to the river more, i'm going to sit on the roof in o-hill with steena, lauren and jenna, i'm going to hang out with matt doxtator!, i'm going to do all kinds of sweet shit, i'm going to a sci fi convention(!!!), i'm going to the ghost museum thingy and maybe some more haunted places, aaaand...i dont know. something fun. woohoo! |

well, hello old friend...
It has been a few months. I'm super busy with work and school. I'm still doing well this semester! Surprise! I'm on top of things! I don't believe it!
I got advised today...I love Dr. Bennett. She's awesome!
Kristin moved in at the beginning of this month. It's been cool! I'm glad she's here! We have a total of...ELEVEN rats between the two of us! TEN of them are currently in my room! hehe I like it though...only three of them are really mine, but i love the others too. :)
I have had ear issues for weeks now...I'm finally going to the doctor. I feel really shitty right now. I slept soooo much yesterday and I think I'm about to get reallllllly sick right before finals! blech.
I don't really have much news. I've been keeping updated with all the REd Lake happenings and with my cousin's status in the hospital. He is in guarded condition now! He went from criitical, to serious, to guarded in a month! Yesterday was the one month anniversary of the shooting. Maybe that's why I feel ill...or part of it.
Anyway...I'm going to take another nap. good...morning...yeah. :) |

Since my birthday...
I have only had alcohol a few times...
And tonight was one of them...
BUT
Cassandra cut my hair...I thrink it looks good, but we'll see. The general consenus thus far has been good...
I have also been doing well in classes and have made it to every single one!
Tomorrow I am off work, but have class, study session with kates and raquetball! yay!

Well my 21st just came and went. I want to thank everyone who took me out, paid for everything, gave me an awesome time and were amazing friends! I love you guys sooooo much!
Anyways, we all drank at the Village in the closed section, which my lovely and talented friend, Ayn, had made just for us for my birthday. She was our fantastic waitress! After I drank several crazy (some good, some disgusting!) drinks we went to Joe and David's where I drank a little more and finally stumbled on home. It was a good night, I had fun and I love my friends a lot. :)
Today I just lazed around the house and played with my rats. I ordered A LOT of chinese food because I wanted it on my birthday. I still have not bought alcohol for myself even though I can now. Maybe I should walk over to Bogarts right now and just have a drink. haha Nah. I'm going to bed!

my holiday was good. i had a lovely time being with my parents for a week. i really love and miss them all the time. i am gradually finding more out about my ancestors. that's something i've been trying at for a long time. i learned much more about my great great grandmother, penny. she was an amazing and mysterious woman. i really wish i couldve known her.
i have some resolutions i suppose...
i want to work out and get into shape...and eat better...and one other resolution.
they're almost always the same every year. but for some reason i just get fatter. because i'm lazy. but hopefully this year will be the year...especially due to a new path i've chosen in life. i think it will be very good for me. all of it.
i havent got much else to tell, really.
i might go to orlando for a dork convention at the end of this month. there, i would get autographs from the phelps twins (weasley twins) and devon murray (seamus finnigan). that would rule. i doubt anyone would go with me, however. so i doubt i will end up going. who knows.
also, i want to go to england before the year is out. that's another resolution. and i'm pretty dead set about it.
